Our Client is running a large supply chain transformation programme and are now looking for an experienced Interim Contract Management Lead to design and embed practical, post-award contract and supplier management across Corporate Services, covering a supplier portfolio in excess of £100M.
This is a hands-on transformation role to build a fit for purpose Contract Management function through improved supplier governance, supplier segmentation, performance management and contract lifecycle management.
What you'll do
- Review the current supplier landscape and contract management maturity, mapping ownership, governance and capability gaps.
- Design end-to-end contract management processes and define boundaries between Procurement, Supply Chain and Contract Management.
- Build supplier categorisation and tiering frameworks based on spend, risk, criticality and strategic importance, with proportionate governance for each tier.
- Create practical tools including scorecards, KPI dashboards, risk registers, service review templates and a contract management playbook.
- Set up a benefits tracking approach and identify opportunities for supplier rationalisation, spend consolidation and value improvement.
- Produce presentations, workshops and communications for audiences from Executive Leadership to operational teams, articulating the case for change.
- Pilot governance reviews with strategic suppliers and support a smooth transition into permanent ownership.
- Strong contract and supplier management expertise, ideally across Corporate Services or indirect categories.
- A track record of designing operating models, governance frameworks and supplier segmentation in a transformation setting.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at Executive level, with the ability to drive change without direct line management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, business-focused materials.
- Must have previously built a Contract Management Framework before – not just managed Supplier Performance.
- Experience in a public sector environment would be an advantage.
