Purchasing Manager - Direct Materials North Kent c£65k plus benefits

 

A growing Global Manufacturing company are looking to recruit a new UK Purchasing Manager to their organisation.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Lead UK Purchasing function for the group with a mix of operational purchasing (60% of role) and Strategic Sourcing (40%)
  • Manage the overall Procurement of Components, Raw Materials and critical items for the group
  • Ensure material availability, maintain robust supply chain purchases and support production schedules to ensure business continuity.
  • Oversee PO creation, order management, expediting and resolution.
  • Monitor material shortages, co-ordinate escalation activities and ensure timely responses to production needs.
  • Drive Strategic Sourcing for Direct Materials through negotiation, RFP/Q processes, commercial evaluation, value engineering and supply chain initiatives.
  • Support and Co-ordinate New Production Introductions
  • Develop strong working relationship with Production Planning, Warehousing, Logistics and Quality to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Introduce new suppliers and materials continuing looking at innovation and process improvements.
  • Manage supplier performance by tracking and reporting operational KPI’s including OTIF, quality and responsiveness.
  • Implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and reliability across the Purchasing function.
  • Manage, coach, led and develop a team of 3 Buyers.
  • Ensure Buyers maintain accurate master data, lead times and supplier information within company systems.

 

This role will suit a Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager with experience of Sourcing Direct Materials in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.

 

You will have previous experience managing a small team, be able to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast paced agile environment.

 

This role will be mostly office based 4/5 days per week so you will need to live within commuting distance of SE London / North Kent.

 

Must have current UK Right to Work.
